Treatment Strategies
The foundation of my treatment is based on relationships and ensuring that your child feels safe, supported, and that parents voices are heard.
I take an individualized, hands-on approach with each child, and leverage a number of clinical strategies including:
Play Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Exposure Therapy
Choice-Based Exercises
Meditation, mindfulness, and deep breathing
Yoga
My Philosophy
A core component of the treatment I offer is based on Social and Emotional Learning (SEL). This is an approach that allows children to understand and manage their emotions, which enables them to be successful in school.
My work with children utilizes SEL tools to help them develop social and emotional competencies such as:
Self awareness
Emotional understanding
Self management
Responsible decision making
Relationship skills
Working Together
When working together, there will be an initial engagement period with your family to understand the collective needs of your child. This will allow the opportunity to develop a customized treatment plan, set goals, and schedule sessions regularly. My approach is collaborative, meaning parents and children’s voices are encouraged and heard.
Each child is unique and I will work closely with you to ensure the treatment plan aligns with your expectations.
